Savioja

When you travel west on Käänu-Vana-Vastseliina road, you will see a stand of forest on the left after you pass Preeksa village. This was once a place where highwaymen rested their oxen. Locals have always stayed away from the place, by hugging the banks of the Kuura stream. And thus they started calling this safer places Preeksa-Savioja, and later just Savioja.

Savioja village has seven farms: Kotli, Mäe, Nurme, Saarõ, Aivari, Präksa and Tsirgu talu.
