Kärina

In the olden days Kärina was a destination for an old Estonian custom where young people would meet in the light nights of summertime on horses. As there were very many frogs making sounds on these marshy meadows, the meadows and then later the entire village was called Kärina (after kärin, din or noise).

Kärina village is home to Nopri Dairy and Siberi pig farm, which enjoy country-wide acclaim.

Kärina village has nine farms: Hirve, Järve, Kärina, Kärina-Lannu, Siberi, Mäesilla, Niilo and Nopri farm, and the Nopri Dairy.
